Snowboarding. In Whistler. In May.

An AMAZING day.
Christine and Paul showed up at my house around 7:15, and we left. Much hilarity ensued along the highway, as I waved excitedly at the other drivers we passed. We got there and bought 3 disposable cameras: 1 for each of us, because we wanted to kick it oldschool as well as having something to remember this trip by. By the second run, on such a beautiful day, Christine and I ditched our Jackets, and I ditched my shirt for one run! It was surprisingly warm, and I didn't get too cold while boarding down really really fast. Christine was having some difficulty with her ankle, which she thinks she broke, but it ended up being just the bandage around it being too tight! In the end, she said snowboarding cured her foot! :D We had so much fun - hitting jumps (which even I did), falling over, and having small snowball fights in the slightly slushy snow. It was easy boarding when it was slushy, 'cause it was harder to catch an edge. I really think it was better for me, as I'm not as pro as Paul or Christine. There was one point, where Paul and I are waiting at the lodge for Christine, and Paul went to lean against a board rack, and slips, and does a classic clumsy stumble. I laughed so loud that people around us stared 'cause Paul recovered so quickly. THEN, right after that, Christine tries to slide on her knees in the snow and take a picture, but she ends up falling flat on her face! AGAIN I laughed my butt off.

We couldn't get over it that it was MAY and we were boarding! We kept smiling and shaking our heads at the beautiful place that is Whistler. I absolutely love Whistler. I could live there. In the summer - Biking, and in the winter - boarding. There was one moment in particular where we just felt so lucky to be alive. We went to the very top of Whistler. I mean the very top. Just check out this wicked picture! We just stood there and took it all in. It really put a cap on our day.

After that, we boarded down the last time, and down to the village, where we ate... yes, even I, ate. It's official, I am off my detox diet. I ended it yesterday. Thursday, May 10th, 2007 at approximately 5:55 pm. I was feeling really tired all day, and Paul and Christine started getting concerned for my health because there was no color in my face. So I dug into some poutine. Paul and I learned that we PROBABLY should've gotten help from our doctors.. or at least let them advise us. Because what we were doing was purely a willpower thing. I was amazed at how long I lasted, though. I was probably missing some vital nutrients, and it was, in hindsight, a good thing I quit. Later on, we went to Plateau Pizza for a large chicken special, because that's what I had been craving for so long. It was SO good to get real food in me again. After we dropped off Christine, I went to see Steph where we watched Chronicles of Riddick. The slideshow should be up soon.

UMOTD:
Driving away from a quick stop at my house, we saw my mom. At this point, I had pizza in my hand, and I just yelled, "Hi Mom, bye Mom!" and all I hear back as she disappears behind us as we drive by is "You're eating Pizza!?!"

A GREAT day.

Detox: Day 7

The Hump

I'm halfway there. I'm enduring, even though Paul has dropped out due to calcium defficiency. HE usually drinks uber amounts of milk each day, and so once he cut that off, his body screamed, and keeled over. He got pretty sick, but he's better now. He stopped yesterday, and with good reason. I'm glad he is back in his normality. I usually eat a LOT of food, as most people know, and having that cut out makes my body go "Where the hell did all the food go!?!" The result is I'm tired easily, and don't have much energy. But after the news that I'm in the Langara Theatre program (!) and with Steph at my side, I've got tons of energy.

Today, I bought a whole lot of stuff for my car, using my experience as a Detail boy at Coquitlam Chrysler over the summer. I bought streak away for the windows, detail cloths, all-purpose cleaner, and a scrub brush. I took this morning to go shopping for groceries, and also to change my oil. I was planning on washing Sheila too, but Christine showed up, and we had a blast! With the sun out so beautifully, we had soup, and then went to Sushi Turn House where we had a fun time pretending the Chopsticks were lazer turrets from Star Wars. We played some traditional Burnout Revenge before Christine had to go, and before I went to work, where I made the most tips ever! All in all, a great day. I came home tonight to talk with my parents and spend a little time with them. We talked about how excited we are for our trip to Poland in July. I'm just invisioning our trip and how much fun it's going to be. 5 weeks is going to be amazing!

In other news, after 11 days of NOT working on my video blog, and one day of actually working on it, you can find it here. :D enjoy.

I've decided to add a Most Memorable Moment to my blog. Each time I post, I will post the most memorable moment I have that day. As I'm becoming an even more hardcore blogger, my plan to use this as a journal is coming to fruition. So, to help me remember things as I look back on this blog, I will try my best to post a MMM for that day. I will call it the.. UBER MOMENT OF THE DAY! The UMOTD!

UMOTD:
Laughing my butt off as Darek said something completely inappropriate in Polish. I'll only say that it was something about a mouse... and some holes... and a cat.

Detox: Day 3

Resistance.

I almost cracked today. I was working, and the guys had just pulled out a mistake pizza out of the oven. A pizza that we're allowed to eat. Not me, though. I was strong. I persevered. And I drank my water. The last two days, I've woken up really tired. I thought it was lack of sleep last night, 'cause I only got 6 hours, but the night before, I had 10. It's just 'cause my body has considerably less food to work with, and hence, I'm tired. Paul is doing well, too, though, and he's persevering as I am.

I have decided that the day we're finished, I'm going to have a large chicken special pizza with Paul. It's our best pizza, and I have a little party every time I make one. And something more everytime I eat one! Wow. That's all I can say about it. Jalepeno sauce, Chicken, Italian Capicollo, Tomatoes and Bacon. THE best pizza around. We made 4 today, and I was THIS close to eating one. > || I persevered, though. In other news, At work, I had two deliveries to friends. I delivered to Elena's house, who played my daughter in Fiddler on the roof. Her mom was there, though. And My friend Sara's house, where she and Ashley were working diligently on some socials project. It was like a little party at Sara's house. It was really great to see both of them, 'cause I missed them. Ashley had done my makeup during Fiddler, which was a great blast.

I went to Steph's house today :D We had a lot of fun watching smallvile. I'm so addicted to that show now. Thanks to her. While we were there, Nate called me from Edmonton-ish! He just bought a new car! A '99 Civic. I'm so stoked to see Casi! AND he left the worlds' funniest comment on my blog.

Detox: Day 1

The Beginning.

So I'm pretty much through my first day of the suck. I've discovered it was the suck about 3 o'clock. For Breakfast, I ate an apple. And some cashews. I drank some lemon water... no sugar ...and flax seeds. For dinner I indulged in rice with chickpeas and carrots. For a first experimental dinner, I think it went pretty well. It was extremely dry, as it is advised to not drink during meal times, so tomorrow I think I'm going to have soup. I really want to see if I can have sushi, because that would make my 2 week hell all the more bearable. Although I wouldn't be able to have soy sauce. This is really going to help me appreciate what I have and the food I get to eat everyday, which is really why I want to go through with this. I weighed myself this morning, and I was 164lbs. We'll see how that looks at the end of the 2 weeks.

The Diet of the Detox Type

So, last night, Paul and I decided that we wanted to try the Detox Diet. It consists of eating not much but flaxseeds, fruit and vegetables for two weeks to rid your system of all the toxins that you consume. Currently I am eating an apple. We start tomorrow, but Paul already got a head start on me, so I want to give myself a boost for tomorrow, so I'm ready. We just returned from getting some flaxseeds and chickpeas as well as some pumpkinseed bars from superstore. As well as posting my infamous video blog, I will be posting daily pukings and feelings on this here blog.

Tonight, though: We party.
